Induction cooking loaner programs usually offer a single burner portable cooktop that plugs into a normal 120 Volt outlet for you to try out induction cooking before buying. Generally lower power than ranges, but useful for getting the feel for induction cooking

Many other utilities and state and local governments beyond those listed below are now starting to offer rebates for going electric.   • The Inflation Reduction Act passed by Congress and signed into law in August 2022 provides 30% tax credits for residential solar, battery and geothermal installations now in 2022. In 2023, it adds a whole range of tax credits and upfront discounts for EVs, heat pumps, electric stoves, electrical upgrades, basic weatherization and more.   • Statewide

    • Switch Is On Rebate & Contractors - Electrification FAQs and guide to find rebates and participating contractors in California. They offer online estimates for cost and combined available incentives for solar electric, batteries and heat pump water heater installations and option to receive multiple estimates from contractors in your area.

    • Golden State Rebates - $500 for heat pump water heater, $40-75 for smart thermostat, $20 for Energy Star advanced room air conditioner for residential customers of SDG&E, PG&E, SCE or SoCal Gas.

    • QuitCarbon - a free personal consultation service to help you evaluate your home needs, make an electrification plan, find contractors, and evaluate their bids.  

    • Clean Energy Connection - Contractor finder for home electrification

    • PG&E Induction Cooktop Loaner Program - test drive an induction cooktop unit for a two week period. For any PG&E customer.

  • Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, AF, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, Sonoma)

    • BayREN Home+ Electrification Appliance & Efficiency Rebates $750 for induction range or cooktop or heat pump gas clothes dryer, $300-1000 for heating and cooling equipment or heat pump water heater, $150 for air sealing, $200 -$800 for duct replacement or sealing and up to $1000 for insulation.

    • Denver Climate Action Rebates - $1800-$7200 for heat pump space heater, up to $6,000 for heat pump water heater, up to $8,000 for solar, upn to $5,750 for battery storage, plus programs for EV charging and service upgrades.​

    • Burlington Electric Net Zero Rebate Program - up to $150 for an induction range or cooktop, up to $600 for heat pump dryer and up to $8.750 for a heat pump for space heating.\
